Clean energy funders battle power market plan at DC Circ.

By Humberto J. Rocha (February 9, 2022, 3:24 PM EST) – A coalition of clean energy and environmental groups has urged the DC circuit to rescind the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s de facto approval of a utility plan for the southeast to establish a regional electricity market.

In a joint motion filed Tuesday, the groups asked the appeals court to overturn FERC’s approval of the Southeast Power Exchange, or SEEM, market, saying the market plan violates no only the precedent of FERC and the Federal Electricity Act, but also discriminates against merchant generators and renewable energy developers.
