The Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) is a network that brings together individuals, groups and associations of Muslims in Asia subscribing to a progressive and enlightened approach to Islam. Since its inception in 1990, AMAN has been striving to develop contacts and links with local and national organizations, academic institutions, individual scholars and networks in the Asian region and beyond. AMAN cooperates with groups whether they are Muslims or of other faiths, and whether they are working with grassroots communities or engaged in research and policy advocacy for the eradication of poverty, environmental protection, human rights, social injustice, inter-faith and inter-cultural dialogue, communal harmony and peace.

Following the vision of helping create a society that promotes human development, prosperity and peace, AMAN Pakistan’s mission is to build capacity and provide services aimed at bringing gender sensitive changes in social and economic aspects of life of our focus groups, for promoting harmony within a society and with others.

AMAN Pakistan Foundation is an affiliate of AMAN Asia, working nationwide as a not-for-profit organization with the objective of promoting peace and prosperity. Informally, it has been in operation since 1996, working under the umbrella of AMAN Asia, and was registered as an independent entity in 2005 under Societies Act 1861.

AMAN Pakistan is expanding its programming through a strategic focus on issues, vulnerable groups, and conditions specific to this country. Advocacy and awareness-raising are important components of development sector and we do give adequate attention to these areas, but our emphasis is on bringing about real change in the life and attitudes of individuals and communities we work with, and making this change spread on the strength of those who benefit from it.

It is thus a sustainable chain reaction, much like lighting scores of lamps with the flame of just one. Each lamp then lights scores others and the process goes on.
